Course Description

The course (online materials on Canvas and discussion combined

with 3 Google Meet meetings) is designed as an undergraduate introduction to Biblical

Studies to serve as the prerequisite course for the Graduate Program in Theology (MTS).

The course is the first and essential element in the Biblical component of the Deacon

formation program. The course will provide a survey of the major sections of the Catholic

Bible and provide background and examples of the main methodologies and theories for

studying the Bible. It will focus on a text or two in each section that serves as a paradigm

for the use of these methodologies and theories.
